Highlights of Thailand
Bangkok - Chiangmai  - Pattaya Package Tour 16 days 15 nights

Highlights Thailand ? T-0001 Weekly tours start every Sunday and Wednesday from Bangkok, Thailand. This tour will take you to experience the highlights of Thailand with a start in Bangkok, also known as the ?City of Angels?. This large and modern city nevertheless retains its old ways and history, giving the tourist a taste of Thailand?s ancient culture through its numerous temples and other ancient, well preserved, monuments and museums. Leaving Bangkok, we will take you to the famous River Kwai to visit the famous bridge and marvel at the natural beauty of this province. Then on to Sukhothai, the first capital of Thailand, to take in the ruins and old temples via a bicycle tour. From here we travel north to Chiang Mai for a taste of Lana culture and to experience a more laid back way of living. We finish our tour on the beaches of Jomtien, located on the Gulf of Thailand. During the tour you will be travelling via air-conditioned minibus. From Bangkok to Sukhothai via air conditioned sprinter train. If the train is fully booked then we will be traveling via a comfortable night bus. From Sukhothai to Chiang Mai we will travel via local bus, and from Chiang Mai to Jomtien Beach via a comfortable, air-conditioned, VIP night bus.
 

 Day 1: Arrival in Bangkok, transfer to your hotel and dinner at Baiyoke Sky restaurant
You will arrive in Thailand via Suvarnabhumi Airport where our driver will be awaiting you at the arrival hall holding a sign with your name. He will take you directly to your hotel.  The rest of the day you are free to relax and recuperate from your flight.  Reservations are made at Baiyoke Suite for your BBQ dinner at 18.30, we will give you a card to give to the taxi driver. *taxi fare not included in package*
  Day 2: Bangkok: The Grand Palace and Canal tour
  • angkok is known as ?the Venice of the East?. There are still areas around Bangkok which can only be reached via boats. After breakfast we will pick you up at your hotel and take you to the Chao Phraya River, also known as the ?River of Kings?. There you will board a long tail boat and immediately notice that we have left behind the hectic pace of the big city. Here farmers grow exotic fruits such as Mangos, Papaya, Durian and more in the time honored tradition of Thai farming. We will be visiting Wat Arun ?The Temple of Dawn? on the way. Here King Rama 1 established his capitol after fleeing from Ayuthaya. After Lunch, we will be visiting Wat Pho (reclining Buddha) and The Grand Palace to visit the most holy and revered Buddha statue in the country, and experience the Thai way of life honoring Lord Buddha. *A delicious and authentic Thai lunch is included.*

  Day 3: Bangkok Free Day
  • Today is a free day for you to explore this fascinating city. A nice option is a cycling tour through Bangkok which enables you can experience a side of the city that is not often seen by tourists. With this tour you get a real feel for daily life in Bangkok. We can book this tour for you and for more information, please contact us.
  Day 4: Kanchanaburi
  • Early in the morning our driver will pick you up at your hotel. Our first stop will be the famous floating market from Damnoen Saduak situated in the province Rachaburi which is approximately 90 km. south of Bangkok. To reach the floating market we will take a long tail boat ride of about 30 minutes through local canals and rice fields. Upon arrival at the Floating Market you will have the opportunity to board a market boat and experience shopping right from your boat. A delightful experience for all your senses! Then on to Kanchanaburi to visit the world famous Bridge, made unforgettable by the movie ?Bridge Over The River Kwai. We will visit a cemetery and war museum to get a sense of atrocities committed here when the Japanese used prisoners of war to build a railway from Bangkok to Myanmar (Birma). Next is a visit to Wat Tham Krasea, a cave temple which houses many Buddhist and Hindu statues. During the war the Japanese used this cave for their ammunition storage. Then off to our overnight accommodation where you can relax or enjoy a swim in the pool. *A delicious dinner is included in your tour.*
  Day 5: Kanchanaburi and Hell Fire Pass
  • After Breakfast your guide will pick you up at your hotel and take you to the Hell Fire Pass. The museum, set up and funded by Australia, has a collection of pictures, paintings and drawings made by the prisoners of war. A film gives you a look at the horrible conditions endured by the prisoners of war and forced laborers, and the abuses perpetuated by the Japanese. The tour guide will lead you into the ravine where you will take in the 1.200 meter long and 5 meter wide passage that was hand chiseled out of the mountain. During the night, this construction site was lit up with oil lamps; this is the reason it is called the Hell Fire Pass. Lunch in the area of the train station at Ban Nam Tok. After lunch we will embark on a local train to the area of ThakiLen. The route through the natural beauty of Kanchanaburi makes use of the original surviving rail bed from this infamous period in history. One of the highlights of this train journey happens when we pass over the famous wooden viaduct on the side of the River Kwai. The viaduct, constructed entirely by hand, had a very high death toll. It is said that the number of deaths on building this railway was so great that every sleeper on the railroad represents one life. 180,000 people lost their lives buiding this railroad, 12,600 were prisioners of war. Back to our hotel where you can relax. *Dinner is not included tonight.*
  Day 6: Erawan Waterfalls and the Srinakarin Dam
  • After breakfast your guide will pick you up at your hotel and take you to the Erawan National Park to visit the most famous waterfalls in the country. The waterfalls have a total of 7 levels. It is possible to visit all levels. Take a swim in the beautiful pools of clear, blue water if you wish. The pools of water are home to algae eaters (small fish) that might attach to your skin and give you a tickling sensation. This is not dangerous and numerous Massage parlors in Bangkok use these fish in their massage services. We will enjoy our lunch at the Srinakarin Dam before our drive back to our hotel in Bangkok. If we have time over we will stop at Nakorn Pathom to visit the world?s largest Chedi. Overnight in Bangkok.
  Day 7: Sukothai
  • fter breakfast our driver will pick you up and drive you to the local train station for your day train to Phitsanulok. The air-conditioned day train takes approximately 4 hours and you will be travelling through one of the most important rice growing region of Thailand. After arrival in Phitsanulok, our driver will meet you at the train station to transfer you to your hotel in Sukhothai. The rest of the day you are free to relax in the resort.
    Day 8: Sukhothai
  • Today is a wonderful cycling tour to check out the area of Sukhothai and the wonderful ruins of this ancient capital. The guide will meet you in the hotel around 08.00 to drive you to the village of Ban Khuai, located just outside Sukhothai. Here you will pick up your bicycle and, in relaxed tempo, follow small roads through rice fields with the mountains of Ramkhamhang National Park in the background. We will arrive at the southern gate of Sukhothai Historical Park where you can visit ancient ruins from the 13th and 14th centuries. Sukhothai is part of the Unesco world heritage sites and your guide will explain the history of this period and the philosophy of Buddhism. In the park we will enjoy our lunch and then, following canals and cycling through small villages, ride back to our hotel in Sukhothai.
  Day 9: Chiang Mai
  • Midmorning we will be taking the local bus to the city of Chiang Mai, also known as the ?Rose of the North?. The transfer to your hotel is not included in your tour package. The rest of the day is free to enjoy the city. The Night Market and the Old City Walls are worth visiting.
  Day 10: Free Day
  • Today you are free to explore the area. A nice option would be to visit one of the Elephant centers in Chiang Mai where you can learn to become a mahout for one day and look after the elephants. Very popular is a bicycle tour of the area, a great way to see the areas that, as a tourist you would normally never visit. Contact us for the possibilities of today.
Day 11: Chiang Mai Free Day
  •  Today you are free to explore this wonderful city. If you would like to more fully explore the north of Thailand, we can arrange a day tour to the ?Golden Triangle?, north of Chiang Rai. Another option is a day tour to some of the Hilltribe Villages in the area. *These tours are not included in your tour* package.
Day 12: Chiang Mai and Doi Suthep and Hand Work Industries
  •  after breakfast, our guide will pick you up at your hotel and drive you up a scenic mountain road to Doi Suthep which is located approximately 1300 metres above sea level and is located 16 kilometers from Chiang Mai. The drive to the Temple will take you along winding roads and through spectacular scenery. Doi Suthep is the most important Temple of the north and the second most important Temple in all of Thailand.Arriving at the parking lot you will see the stairway protected by the Naga:  the Mystical, 7 headed snake protecting the Temple. To reach the Temple you will climb 300 stairs or, there is a modern cable car that will take you to the top in minutes. *Tickets for the cable car are for sale on site and not included in tour package.* Entering the Temple you will be struck by the magnificent and scale of this ancient spiritual site. The Temple grounds offer a spectacular view over Chiang Mai. Returning to the city we will enjoy lunch at San Kampaeng located just outside Chiang Mai. This area is well known for its hand made products such as silk production and weaving, teak wood carving, making and painting of umbrellas and more. A must see for visitors to Chiang Mai.

Day 13: Chiang Mai and the bus to Jomtien
  •  After breakfast enjoy some free time until your transfer from the hotel to the local bus station.  Here we will board a comfortable, air conditioned, VIP sleeping bus to Jomtien.
 
Day 14: Jomtien Beach
  • Upon arrival at the bus station, the transfer to your hotel is not included in your tour package. After checking in there is plenty of time to relax and reflect on your wonderful tour of Thailand.
Day 15: Jomtien Beach

Day 16: Jomtien Beach and transfer to Suvarnabhumi Airport
  •  Today our driver will pick you up at the hotel and take you to the Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok for your return flight to your destination. Enjoy a safe flight and we hope to see you again!

If the train is fully booked, we will take a day bus. Accommodation are in good tourist class hotels with daily breakfast and private bathroom.

Most hotels in Thailand have a policy of check in time of 13.00 and check out 12.00 Extension of your stay in Jomtien Beach is possible, please send us your requirements.  Upgrade for your hotel in Jomtien Beach is also possible.If you prefer to fly from Chiang Mai to Bangkok with a transfer to Jomtien Beach, we would be happy to make the arrangements for you.  The costs are based on availability of the flight, one extra night in Chiang Mai or Cha-Am and a refund for not using the bus ticket.  Contact us for more information if you would like this option.  If your choice is another beach location instead of Jomtien Beach, we can make these arrangements for you.Due to local conditions, weather, road conditions etc. the route or hotels might be changed.  We reserve the right to make these changes if deemed necessary to ensure the safety and comfort of our guests and staff.  The intention of the tour will always be maintained and, should this be necessary, will do our best  to substitute a hotel with one of the same quality.
